MYRTLE
BEACH, S.C. (Feb. 13, 2007) -
Since the beginning of the year,
U.S. Club Soccer member clubs have
seen over 170 of their players, as
either alumni or current players, be
selected to their respective U.S.
National Team. This number
includes five U-14 boys' players who
participated in the U.S. Club Soccer
2006
id2 Regional Training Camps:
David Caban, Joaquin del Rosario, McAmos
Paye, Jonathan Ray
and Tyler Thompson. In
addition, five id2 alumni are now a
part of the U-17 Men's National Team
residency program: Greg Garza
(2004), Nick Millington (2004 &
2005), Amobi Okugo (2004 &
2005), Charles Renken (2004 &
2005) and Kofi Sarkodie (2004 &
2005).
id2 is U.S. Club Soccer's
revolutionary approach to
identifying the nation's best youth
players. An annual event for
both boys and girls, id2 consists of
regional training camps, which U.S.
Soccer Youth Development Program
staff attend to scout players for
possible inclusion in National Team
programs. Further details
regarding the 2007 id2 Regional
Training Camps will be announced
this spring.
Following are the rosters for
these teams, noting some of the
players with ties to U.S. Club
Soccer member clubs.
