If you are in need of any soccer gear- please take advantage of our partner, Omega
Sports. They have an excellent selection of soccer gear, at great prices.
The best area to shop for soccer stuff is Cross Roads in Cary (beside Old Navy and
Michael's). This is where you will find both Omega and Dick's

Q: My child is not sure if she wants to play soccer. Can she come out and try it out?
A: We will have several practices and a clinic before teams are
made. This will give her plenty of time to see
how she feels about soccer before you register her. You must sign a
waiver, and keep in communication
with our staff prior to teams being formed.
Q: I have just registered my child, now what?
A: We will conduct a coaches meeting prior to the start of the season.
This is recreational and parent
Volunteer
Coaches are wanted. Don't worry, you will be guided
with a curriculum and our staff.
Volunteer Coaches will receive their team information pack along with their roster information
and are asked
to call or eMail their players. All volunteer coaches are required to
have a back-ground check. You will be
notified about your 1st game time and receive your game schedule via
eMail or when the team meets.
Each team needs a "Team Manager". The role of a Team Manager is to organize a "Snack Sheet",
and to pass out any information given to you for the team. Please keep this in mind as we
move closer to the
season. If you think you would like to volunteer to help your coach and team.
Again, this is recreational
soccer.

the best place to go to buy soccer gear?
A:
Omega Sports,
and DicksSportingGoods,
are all
located at Crossroads Shopping Center in Cary. Click
here to see the coupons from
Dicks Sporting Goods. These will be given out at the field Sept. Omega

Q: How long is the season?
A:
The
Spring
2011 will start in
March, 2011. Pre-K
players will start
their
combined
practice
and game on Saturday morning. Kindergarteners thru 12
year olds will have
a
weekday
practice
on Wednesday, starting at 5:45-6:15pm (this is not a mandatory
practice) and a game on Saturday.
Q: What day are games played?
A: All games will be played Saturday morning/early afternoon.
Q: Who is conducting practices and when will they be held?
A: Practices will be held once a week, taught by one/several
of our Professionally Licensed Coaches
( Billy Englishby , Dominique Thenard, and our Director
of Coaching - MikeMoltzon. Our Director of
Coaching
Education, Henry Abiodun, may also have a symposium, to better educate our volunteer
coaches.
Q: Which fields do we play or practice on, and where are they?
A: We will practice at one location (at Goldstar). GoldstarSC has a
soccer complex
off
HWY 55 & US1.
Some teams may play at St.
Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and School - just 2 miles away
from the
Goldstar (aka - Apex) fields. Kindergartners thru 12 year old will
be playing with children at Parish
Athletics.
Q: Are you going to cancel stuff if it rains?
A: Wet grass and soccer cleats do not get along. When grass is wet, the entire root system
can be uprooted by the soccer boot- leaving a hole instead of grass. Then once the field is dry,
the area that used to once have grass, now has a patch of dirt. It is important to keep fields in
good condition so you have grass when you play a game or have practice. In the event we have
to cancel a game or practice, we will
try our best to reschedule it.
Q: I
would like to bring in an entire team to your league. Can we do
this?
A: Yes. Entire teams are welcome into our program.
Please contact our Recreational
Director about this.
Q: I
only have half of a team that I would like to bring to your
league. I would like to keep these
kids
together. Can they be placed on a team, and you add more players?
I will he happy to coach.
A: Yes. Please contact our Recreational
Director for arrangements.
Q: My
child has been playing soccer for 5 years. He is very
advanced compared to his peers, and
not
being challenged. He is getting very frustrated. Is there a way he
can join your league and
play
up an age group?
A: Yes,
we do allow children to play up an age group to ensure proper
skill development. We would need
have one of our Head Trainers evaluate him to see what the best
fit for him is. Additionally, he may qualify
to participate in a competitive program.
Q: Who's Rules Do
You Follow?
A: Our rules of play are from the United States Soccer
Federation, but will
also "switch it up" this fall
season. See below for rules.

Q: My
child has never played soccer before. Do you offer classes or expect them to
jump out there and
know
how to play soccer?
A:
All children will have 1 training session per week with a
Volunteer parent coach, guided by a Licensed
(professional) coach. This training session will consist of 30 minutes of instruction
and 30 minutes of
scrimmage to help flourish their knowledge of the sport and to further enhance overall player development.
This will help prepare them for their game on Saturday.
Remember, each game on Saturday will be coaches by a dedicated, fantastic parent volunteer.
